After eight weeks of reading and grading English composition essays on-line, the summer session is finally over. Forty-five students enrolled in the three college credit Composition I and Composition II classes, and forty completed the requirements and will receive their grades.Relieved? Yes. The previous online platform used was Blackboard, which always worked, never "crashed," was easy to navigate, but became far too expensive. The current online platform is ANGEL, which is less "sexy" but still easy to navigate, and apparently cheaper to use.
In ten days a new fall semester begins, my last as a full-time college professor. Am I nervous? Nope. Worried? Not a bit. Will I be busy enough come next June when I leave academia? You bet. In the next ten days life will be enjoyed and relaxation will be the word of the day.
